Thousands of people tuned out to welcome back the victorious Marlborough team and the Ranfurly Shield they won from Canterbury in the winter of 1973.

Alison Fuller was there on the big day and remembers the last ten minutes to be too tense to watch. In the picture below, she’s pointing out her husband, who was in a prime spot to see the Log handed over to Mighty Marlborough.
